Pauliina Latva is a versatile dance artist working as a performer, choreographer, and teacher. As a dancer, she has performed in works by Petri Kekoni, Riku Lehtopolku, and Reija Wäre, appearing in operas, musicals, stage productions of various scales – from independent works to larger productions.

Latva’s choreographic work spans from contemporary dance to interdisciplinary collaborations. Her choreography Light Will Catch You, created in collaboration with costume designer Ella Kärkkäinen, premiered at the international techno event Odeology in Odense, Denmark, while her piece We All Belong Together was presented at the Sibelius Museum in Turku. Latva has also choreographed for circus artist Heidi Latva, whose contemporary circus piece premiered in Odense in 2024.

In 2022, she worked as both choreographer and dancer for music artist MALLA’s summer tour. The following year, she received the Turku City Artist Grant in support of her artistic development. Her artistic practice extends to site-specific and cross-disciplinary projects, such as collaborations with Art for All ry, where she explores sensory experiences, materiality, and human–nature relations.

Latva holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and wrote her thesis on The Utilization of Dance in the Rehabilitation of a Stroke – a Review of the Literature. She is also a certified yoga teacher, currently leading weekly classes in the Helsinki area. At present, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Dance Pedagogy at the University of the Arts Helsinki.

Her movement language is fluid and dynamic, guided by breath and natural flow, yet grounded in precision and personal expression. As an artist, Latva is committed to continuous learning, collaboration, and sharing her expertise through teaching and creative exchange.
